Safety meets design: Lucolor® – colored asphalt for modern traffic routes

Colored asphalt in road construction is not only functional, but also meets the aesthetic requirements of modern urban planning. By adding suitable pigments, the asphalt can be adjusted to almost any requirements.

The use of Lucolor® in colored asphalt enables clear and effective marking of traffic areas. High-contrast colors improve the visibility of road markings, especially in poor lighting conditions, or make distances easier to see in busy areas.

The color separation of cycle paths, pedestrian crossings, intersections and traffic islands with Lucolor® increases their visibility for road users. Lucolor® opens up new design possibilities in road construction and makes it possible to combine the aspects of traffic safety and living quality.

Lucolor® – cityscape design brings color into urban spaces:

The name Lucolor® covers a whole range of colored road construction bitumen that is suitable for producing colored asphalt. In order to avoid contamination between two different colored approaches, the vehicles and equipment that come into contact with the colored binder or asphalt must be cleaned accordingly beforehand.

In addition to the safety aspect, colored asphalt is used to beautify and harmoniously design the cityscape. Colored asphalt emphasizes the urban aesthetic and thus increases the quality of life of residents. Separate traffic zones for pedestrians, bicycle lanes, bus bays or parking spaces are visually highlighted and in areas such as playgrounds and sports fields or schoolyards, boundaries and markings are set with colored asphalt. The black bitumen is replaced by the colored Lucolor®; the overall composition may need to be slightly adjusted.
